Christchurch

Jetlag is a wonderful invention - despite careful sleep management, alcohol and sleeping pills we arrived in Christchurch awake but with completely muddled senses.  That evening was the first time Kevin has fallen asleep at the table before dinner had been served!

A couple of days exploring Christchurch followed in glorious sunshine, albeit quite windy at times. It's a compact city still being rebuilt after the earthquake of 2011. With plenty of car parking available on vacant building plots, NCP would have really cashed in if they had been here. There's a strong 'British' legacy - Shackleton, Scott and Queen Victoria all prominent, and virtually every road named after an English town.

Tomorrow we take control of our temporary home and venture out into the countryside - who knows when we'll get wifi again ?
