2 weeks have passed since we entered NorthSouth Holiday Park to join New Zealanders in readiness for their lockdown. As for everyone pretty well everywhere, life has ground to a halt.
Autumn is approaching, clocks have gone forward, nights are drawing in, trees are starting to change colour but fortunately the days are largely warm and sunny.
So, what counts for excitement these days we hear you ask ? Well, most days we walk for 2-3 hours with a selection of routes ranging from a bike track through Otukaikino Reserve, around Clearwater Golf Course, around Christchurch Airport to Harewood Golf Club or just around the local industrial estate. On very special days we go to a supermarket, for odds or ends we walk for maximum time consumption, or drive when beer and wine stocks pass safety stock level.

As for the outlook, the signs are not great but we are still hoping for a miracle. New Zealand's numbers are stable and Australia's are declining; current talk in the media varies between the lockdown continuing after the initial 28 days and being relaxed. Nobody knows so we'll continue sitting tight with fingers crossed. We did book more flights to get home, if we are unable to get moving next month; unfortunately Malaysia Airlines joined the rogues gallery by cancelling the flights and are now withholding the money for 8 weeks.....
Hope you are all managing your way through whatever form of isolation you are living. Until next time, stay well and best wishes to all.
