Seven months of travel has flown by and time has already come for us to return. Ah, that was just a dream, 3 weeks have flown by and we have to return. Having constantly re-made plans to dodge the CV issues the time has come to make a Dunkirk style withdrawal. Obviously very, very disappointing for us although we are very conscious that everybody is being badly affected.New Zealand is steadily closing down, Australia has closed its border and the last international flights out leave this week. Faced with a choice of an open-ended stay in a closed down NZ, with no means of escape, or making a tactical withdrawal we have managed to get seats on one of the last 'evacuation' flights. Heaven knows what infections we will pick up on that !
In the meantime we are making a whistle stop tour of a few sites and leave you with a last few pictures:
Early morning rainbow over Lake Te Anau
Lake Wakatipu - Gateway to Paradise
More at Lake Wakatipu
Pinot Noir tasting
Is this why they are called All Blacks ?
Even the Oystercatchers....
